Typical trattoria in the historic centre of Bologna

Located in one of the oldest alleys in the centre of Bologna, near the splendid Piazza Santo Stefano, Trattoria Leonida is a typical Bolognese trattoria, renovated over time, that has been welcoming its customers since 1938. The recipes all come from the tradition of Bolognese and Emilian cuisine, such as the succulent dishes of fresh pasta made strictly by hand and the many highly refined dishes accompanied by excellent wine from our cellar.

Trattoria Leonida is located in Vicolo Alemagna, one of the oldest alleys in Bologna, a few minutes from the Two Towers, Piazza Maggiore and Piazza della Mercanzia.

After having been a guest in our restaurant, it will be very easy to plunge back into the alleys and squares of our beautiful city to wander around, do some shopping, visit exhibitions, churches and museums, and discover the small and big historical and non-historical curiosities.

Our restaurant is a typical Bolognese trattoria that will welcome you in one of the alleys of the historic centre, in an intimate and rustic atmosphere.

It has a small dehor, located at the entrance of the restaurant, where you can enjoy the specialities of our cuisine in complete tranquillity in a street that in the past was home to numerous inns where students from Germany stayed or were often frequent visitors. Hence the name Alemagna.

Our menu offers specialities of typical Emilian and Bolognese cuisine with proposals also for vegetarian customers.

For the tourists who want to savour the flavours of our cuisine or for the Bolognese who want to rediscover the goodness of their culinary tradition, Trattoria Leonida will be pleased to welcome you in the internal halls or in the comfortable veranda located on Vicolo Alemagna, an ancient alley dating back to 1300, formerly called "Via dei Sorghi".

The small dehors offers patrons, smokers and non-smokers alike, the opportunity to lunch and dine while enjoying the beautiful summer and spring days, far from the typical hustle and bustle of the city centre but just a stone's throw from the major historical, artistic and cultural attractions of our wonderful Bologna, the city from which all our cuisine, made up of traditional dishes, is inspired.

Our restaurant is always open, both for lunch and dinner, from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays it is open during the Fair period. Trattoria Leonida boasts a loyal clientele, but it is also very popular with tourists thanks to its typical Bolognese menu, prepared every morning by the expert hands of skilled sfogline (pasta makers) and chefs who have been on staff for several decades.
